BestVendor, the B2B social recommendation directory, has closed $600k in seed funding, led by SoftBank Capital and Lerer Ventures in addition to Silicon Valley super-angels SVAngel and Peter Thiel.

The company aims to help smaller businesses that don’t have access to procurement offices or Gartner subscriptions make faster, smarter purchasing decisions. The launch reflects a growing trend of leveraging social media trends for B2B purposes. Founder and CEO Jeff Giesea stopped by eMedia Vitals for a video interview, which you can watch here.
