HTML5 standards body split raises concerns

An editor of the HTML standard sent ripples across the web development world last week when he described a "fork" between the versions of HTML maintained by the World Wide Web Consortium (W3C) and by the Web Hypertext Applications Technology Working Group (WHATWG).
