After a brutal quarter of earnings decline, Martha Stewart Living Omnimedia plans to focus on some digital initiatives at its magazines, including releasing iPad editions of Whole Living and Martha Stewart Weddings by the end of the year. Did it really take MSO this long to get iPad fever? At this point, shouldn't an iPad offering be a next-quarter initiative. Original Story

Really fair comment. Having said that, I found the end-of-year comment to be disconcerting. We live in an age of technology. Talking about iPad launches by year-end damages your credibility. Development cycles are months now, not years. I understand the need to set expectations conservatively with investors, but why bother mentioning it at all?

Hmmmm . . . wasn't MSO one of early members of the 'awesome app club' with Boundless Beauty, followed by some of the highest-rated magazine issues on the iPad over a year ago? Seems like they got the fever a lot earlier than most.
