Twitter explains service outage

Twitter's service went down multiple times in a three-hour period on Thursday. The company said the outages were caused by a "cascading bug" that spread into other parts of its system. Twitter's VP of engineering said the company was conducting "a comprehensive review to ensure that we can avoid this chain of events in the future." Original Story
